The Maths Anxiety Trust aims to eliminate anxiety about Maths

Maths Anxiety in Teachers Summit November 2022

Maths Anxiety Trust presented a Summit at Church House, Westminster, London that asked "Are we giving our teachers adequate training in the teaching of maths?"

It was presented in association with the Chartered College of Teaching, National Numeracy, the Mathematical Association and Learnus.

At the Summit, Professor Margaret Brown OBE, President of the Maths Anxiety Trust presented findings from a YouGov survey on maths anxiety in primary and secondary teachers commissioned by Maths Anxiety Trust and asked four speakers to discuss ways of better training and supporting teachers in the UK.

Speakers were:

Professor Dame Alison Peacock, CEO Chartered College of Teaching

Sam Sims, CEO National Numeracy

Dr Colin Foster, President of the Mathematical Association

Dr Sue Gifford, Emeritus Fellow, School of Education, University of Roehampton.

The Maths Anxiety Trust was launched at a major summit at Senate House, UCL on 13th June 2018 an evening of investigation by leading academics in the field, teacher trainers, head teachers, teachers (Primary and Secondary) Educational Psychologists and Policy Makers.
